Anesthesia
There are a number of medications used to control pain in veterinary medicine today. For hospitalized patients, injectible medications are used most commonly, as they tend to be faster acting than a liquid or pill form.
Anesthesia
Since general anesthesia is required to properly and safely perform numerous procedures on pets, we have 4 general anesthetic machines in the hospital.
While a pet is under anesthetic, a Veterinary Technician monitors:
the correct delivery of the mixture of oxygen and gas anesthetic agent

- blood pressure
- body temperature
- ECG
- pulse rate
- oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood.
