Alison was born and raised in Ottawa. After completing her undergraduate degree in Sociology in Toronto, she returned to make her home in Ottawa, working for many years in social services with adults with developmental disabilities.
Seeking a new challenge that would incorporate both her love of animals and people, she returned to school in 2013 in the Veterinary Technician program at Algonquin College. She has been a Registered Veterinary Technician here at Carling Animal hospital since her graduation in 2015. She has a special interest in animal nutrition and is the Nutrition Advocate for Carling Animal Hospital.
Outside of work, Alison enjoys spending time with husband, 2 adult children and friends. She is the proud fur-mom to a senior rabbit named Thumper and young, rambunctious golden retriever named Dottie. During her spare time, she also enjoys camping, kayaking, making stained glass art, pottery and helping her husband restore classic cars.
