Senior Care

Ensuring that your loyal companion is healthy and comfortable during their golden years.

Whether they’ve developed some lovable quirks or are aging like fine wine, all senior pets need added care during this stage of their life. They are more prone to injury and illness. We are here to help your pet thrive during their golden years. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us to learn more about our senior care services for pets.

When do pets reach old age?

This depends on your pet’s species, breed and size. Larger dog breeds typically reach seniority much earlier, at around 7-years-old. Medium-sized dogs are seniors at about 10-years, while smaller dogs reach seniority much later at the 11-year mark. Felines reach senior age between 11 and 15-years-old.

How often should I take my senior pet to the vet?

We recommend one checkup every six months. This way, the doctor can spot problems early on and prevent them from worsening.

Do senior pets still need parasite control?

Yes. Mature pets can still get parasites. In fact, they are more likely to suffer harsher reactions to a parasitic infection, especially if they have other health conditions like arthritis or diabetes.
